Our brave volunteers: Przemysław Lipiński, Katarzyna Błądek and Tomasz Grzelczak are already in Papua New Guinea and are working in a hospital in Kundiawa Town.
Katarzyna trains local dentists and treats dental patients, among others in the health center of Chuave, accompanied by a dentist from Kundiawa and his assistant. Patients were admitted to a former dental practice, currently without staff and electricity.
Przemysław acquainted with the needs of the surgical ward - there are four halls in the block, about 2000 treatments a year, which is an impressive result - and he is trained in the treatment of wounds, diabetic foot syndrome and the handling of imported vacuum devices. The hospital director appointed two physicians for practical training in the field of vacuum therapy and with them. Other suction dressings were performed and patients with chronic wounds have also been consulted. Tomasz has been trained in pain management and has examined the organization of the hospital pharmacy.
The head of the hospital in Kundiavo is Fr. MD Jan Jaworski PhD, at the same time, a long-term manager of three surgical, orthopedic and tuberculosis departments in this hospital.
