Ewa Piekarska, President of the Association, and Katarzyna Błądek, a dentist, for two weeks, were implementing next stages of a PMM project in Tanzania.
Ewa Piekarska and Katarzyna Błądek spent two weeks in Tanzania. Katarzyna trained a local dentist in the dispensary in Nanjota, run by a Polish nun, Sr Zofia Ładniak, and she also conducted screening tests in nearby schools and villages together with the local dentist. This was an opportunity to provide knowledge about why it is worth to brush teeth and care for oral hygiene. The dental surgery in Nanjota was furnished with necessary equipment, brought to the site by Ewa and Katarzyna.
Ewa Piekarska with Ryszard Jankowicz, PhD, the project coordinator from the hospital in Nyangao, planned activities in subsequent stages and analysed the most urgent needs. This issues were also consulted with doctors working in the hospital and other people involved in the project. In the second stage of the trip she visited the project in Nanjota, taking turns with Sr Zofia Ładniak in assisting Katarzyna Błądek in screening tests of children and dental treatment. PMM employees also helped in the dispensary treatment room and developed knowledge about the most common diseases of the region.
