The health center in Zarqa, supported by the Polish Medical Mission, covers the care for mothers, newborns and children from Syrian and Jordanian families. Doctors, nurses, pharmacists and field workers: medical promoters, social workers and helpers with commitment create a friendly and safe place for all patients.
Four times a year, the center opens its doors to the entire city community. The first two-day event this year was held in May, the next in July, and the next ones are scheduled in September and November. Several hundred people benefit medical consultations and laboratory tests during open days. Patients can examine, among others, sight, hearing, blood pressure and sugar level. In addition, the center's employees conduct adult meetings about breastfeeding, nutrition, hygiene and family planning methods, and for children - games and outdoor activities.
The project 'Support for basic medical care, maternal, newborn and child healthcare and improvement of hygienic standards for local community, IDP and Syrian refugees in the Governorate of Zarqa in Jordan' is co-financed by the Polish development cooperation programme of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.
The partner of the project is Terre des Hommes Italia in Giordania
