Every 10 minutes a child dies in Yemen. The cause of the death is a disease, starvation or wounds from bombs. ‘The situation in Yemen is a humanitarian disaster to the civilian, especially women and children’, says Małgorzata Olasińska-Chart from the PMM. On www.pmm.org.pl/akcja-specjalna you can count how much we earn during an hour and donate this same amount to the Yemen aid. The PMM collaborates in this country with the international organisation Doctors Without Borders. The ambassador of the action #PMMdlaJemenu (#PMMforYemen) is the well-known actor Maciej Stuhr.
‘Due to starvation or lack of medical care, every 10 minutes a child dies in Yemen’, says Maciej Stuhr in a video on the PMM profile on Facebook, ‘Join the Doctors Without Borders and the Polish Medical Mission. Help with them!’, he encourages.
PMM provides aid to the starving children and women in Yemen in a partnership with Doctors Without Borders. This most respected medical non-governmental organisation in the world has been active in Yemen since the beginning of the conflict. It has thoroughly identified the needs and implemented international standards of assistance accepted by the government in Yemen. ‘For us, it is important that we do not spend any single zloty to cover the cost of travels, office or administration’, says Olasińska-Chart, ‘we do not have to go there and search for information, all the data on the needs and costs of treatment have already been verified by the Doctors Without Borders, and we simply fund the immediate life-saving aid’.
The Polish Medical Mission has donated 10,000 dollars to the aid for Yemen. The Polish organisation supports 37 points launched by the Doctors Without Borders where children are nourished and treated for cholera. In the last 4 years, these points saved over 101,000 lives of Yemeni children and women. Aid is still needed!
