Our volunteer Karolina Siwicka, an orthopedic surgeon, sends smiles from Malawi from a little patient whose wound has healed faster thanks to the equipment we bought together:
This handsome boy is Timothy. Timothy was hit by a car. He had numerous open fractures and lost part of the ankle. When the wounds healed, a huge scar was created on the lower leg and foot, which deformed the leg. Timothy has been in our ward for several weeks. The big scar was cut, and the wound was covered with a vacuum dressing to prepare a place for the transplant. After a few days, the ankle could be reconstructed and covered with the skin "borrowed" from the second calf. For several weeks, Timothy will have his legs stitched together. For now, everything is healing well.
Thanks to the fact that you have already supported PMM, many wounds on children's limbs and children's hearts were healed, and wonderful smiles returned on the face. Thanks to your amazing response to the action on Children's Day, we will restore smiles with redoubled strength! On behalf of all running kids we would like to thank you; and those kids who still have a steep, bumpy and painful way to get back to fitness - support good thoughts!
