We are a Polish nongovernmental organisation that has been active in the area of medical assistance for 18 years. We help victims of wars, calamities and cataclysms. Our activities are based on voluntary work of physicians, nurses, rescuers, physiotherapists and also psychologists and medical analysts. We work towards permanent changes for the better in the poorest countries of the world. We educate medical personnel and civilians in the scope of the basic healthcare as well as basic and advanced life-saving procedures. We provide humanitarian aid in areas affected by wars and cataclysms.
Polish Medical Mission in 2016:
we sent 20 volunteers with medical aid.
we launched 3 mobile clinics for nearly 7,000 patients from areas where there is no access to a doctor.
we handed over school kits for 605 children, hygiene items and cleaning products for nearly 4,000 displaced families and over 3,400 hygiene kits for 890 families living in the refugee camp Alwand 1 in Iraqi Kurdistan.
we financed the activity of the specialist outpatient clinic for refugees from Syria and the local population in Haye el Sellom in Lebanon where almost 12,000 medical consultations, including paediatric and gynaecologic ones, were provided until the end of November 2016.
we financed the refurbishing of two outpatient clinics in Dakar and Ngohe in Senegal, and the purchase of ultrasound equipment, which made it possible to perform 5,000 ultrasound examinations a year.
we carried out medical trainings concerning the principles of first aid, perinatal and paediatric care in turn for 40 people of the medical personnel and 70 students at a midwifery school in Senegal, 150 village chiefs in Iraqi Kurdistan, 90 midwives in Myanmar.
we delivered life-saving equipment for neonates and for the emergency department at the Kurdish hospital in Khanaqeen.
we equipped the Rural Health Centre in the area of Wakema Township in Myanmar with indispensable medications, small medical equipment, first aid kits and complete childbirth kits.
