Haiti, one of the poorest countries in the world, ruined by the biggest earthquake for 200 years in 2010 and the hurricane in 2016, needs our help.
At the initiative of the volunteers of the Polish Medical Mission, we launched Children of Haiti project.
The first phase of the project in March 2017 was aimed at supporting education, including health education for the people cared for by the centre; it included an extensive fact-finding mission concerning the local healthcare system and identification of the immediate needs and determination of the further development of the support.
The second phase of the project, in November 2017, will enable effective functioning of the mobile outpatient clinic and of the Sakala centre, and will directly translate into the living standard of all of its care recipients and of the inhabitants of the poorest districts of the capital of Haiti.
Thanks to the proper recognition of the circumstances on-site and establishing direct cooperation with the individual organisations, PMM is providing efficient and effective medical aid for 500 people a week as well as food and appropriate conditions for education for 200 children a month.
