The first batch of medicines purchased thanks to the Polish Medical Mission arrived at the Al Hayat hospital in Eastern Ghouta yesterday.
‘Tonight we received a video in which one of the doctors belonging to the Balsam Medical Organization, an organisation of Syrian doctors, confirms the receipt of the medicines’, says Małgorzata Olasińska-Chart, the coordinator of aid to Syria at the Polish Medical Mission, ‘The doctor who can be heard in the video says, “It is 18th March, 2018. We are at the Al Hayat hospital in Eastern Ghouta. We thank the Polish Medical Mission for the medicines.”’
This is the first delivery of aid that has reached Eastern Ghouta.
Last week, the Polish Medical Mission signed an agreement with the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of Poland under which the PMM will receive PLN 2m. This amount will be allocated to the rebuilding of the orthopaedic centre in Termanin, in the north of Syria.
